At Palm Beach Sailing Club, we have many different youth programs running throughout the year. In order to give your children the best instruction available and keep them safe, PBSC only employs US Sailing certified instructors and counselors all of whom are certified in CPR and First Aid.

Youth Race Teams (Year Round)

Our Youth Sailing Team meets during both the fall and spring school semesters. We refine the basic sailing skills that have been taught during camps, teach the racing rules and tactics of sailing and attend regattas in three fleets. For the younger, lighter sailors we have our International Optimist fleet and for the older, heavier sailors we have the choice of Lasers, a single-handed monohull, or 420s, a double-handed monohull. All of our fleets are sailed around the world. We are always accepting new participants. Please inquire for more information and pricing via email to youthsailing@pbsail.org or by calling 561-530-4762. You may also visit our Additional Resources page to download the registration packet with pricing and schedule information.

Recreational Sailing Program (Year Round)

Our Recreational Sailing Program meets on Saturday mornings throughout the fall and spring school semesters. This program is sailed in a variety of boats including Sunfish, Zumas and Hobie Waves. It is intended to be a fun program for youth to learn to sail or keep up their skills learned in our Summer Sailing Camp. With a large age range, this program is perfect for novice sailors who may not be comfortable joining the Youth Race Team yet and can be used as a stepping stone to join the Youth Race Teams in the future. Please inquire for more information and pricing via email to youthsailing@pbsail.org or by calling 561-530-4762. You may also visit our Additional Resources page to download the registration packet with pricing and schedule information.

Summer Sailing Camp

Summer Sailing Camp is available to children ages 7-16. Camp starts the week after school ends and runs until the week before the start of school in weekly increments. Your child will experience the joy of sailing and learn the essential elements of boat handling, seamanship, water safety and sportsmanship in a safe and fun environment. Campers gain self confidence as they master the skills of sailing, learn lifelong lessons that build character, foster teamwork, and strengthen respect for self, others, and the marine environment.

Holiday/School Break Camps

Holiday camps are available based on interest. Please let us know if you’d be interested in a School Break camp and we will accommodate you as best we can. These camps will introduce your child to the basics of sailing and will help fine-tune skills previously learned in any of our other camps.

Private Lessons

Youth private lessons are available for those who want to learn sailing for the first time, can’t make other scheduled programming or for those who want to fine tune their sailing/racing skills. Please email youthsailing@pbsail.org or call 561-881-0809 to schedule private lessons.

*Basic swimming skills are required for participation in any of our youth programs.
