PBSC Catamaran "Cat" Clinic

If you have a catamaran then this clinic is for you.  You will learn how to improve your boat set up, improve your techniques, and sail faster with complete confidence.  If you are new to sailing on a catamaran this clinic is for you.  You can avoid learning bad habits and start out learning the right skills immediately.

Robbie Daniel is the rock star of the catamaran world.  His name is the key to success for catamaran sailors who want to go fast and improve their skills.  Those who take his clinics win regattas.  It is that simple.  He has enjoyed four decades of multihull sailing, racing, coaching, and winning multiple National Titles in multiple multihull classes. As a member of the US Sailing Team for 15 years and an Olympic Level Coach of 24 years, he knows the tacks and tactics of competing at the highest levels. Robbie currently is the Head Coach of Red Gear Racing. Through Red Gear Racing he provides private coaching including Olympic Level racing, and holds Multihull Clinics and Training Camps around the world.

You can take a peak at Robbie Daniel's Sailing Resume Here

This is the first time PBSC has hosted a clinic of this level.  The instructors will begin each day with showing you how to set up your catamaran, sharing their years of experience with tips and tricks.  Then you launch and head over to the practice area.  The day will be filled with drills to show handling techniques, sail trim, team mechanics, crew placement, weight distribution, and tactics.  While you are on the water your actions are records for the debriefing.  Everything everyday goes into building confidence so that after 3 days you will have the skill set to do whatever is next for you.  Maybe win that next regatta or just know you could.  Regardless, you will have absolute confidence in your sailing ability to handle your cat fast and safe.

If you do not have a boat available, you can email us and we can try to help you arrange a charter, but we cannot guarantee anything.

Top 5 Reasons to Sail a Catamaran

6. Fast is fun. Average upwind speeds near 10 knots are common

5. Stability is relaxing. The ability to park and “chillax” is a great trait of multihull

4. Physically challenging. Learning to trapeze and fly a hull is the most unique skill

3. Mentally demanding. It’s the same as sailing monohull, yet totally different

2. Mature fleet that loves to share knowledge. Interesting boats attract interesting people.

1. See number 6. Fast is fun!
