Summer Sailing Camp

 

Summer Sailing Camp is available to children ages 5 through 17, and runs Monday-Friday from 9:00a-4:00p, with early drop-off being 8:00a and late pick-up at 4:30p.

 

Your child will experience the joy of sailing and learn the essential elements of boat handling, seamanship, water safety and sportsmanship in a safe and fun environment. Campers gain self-confidence as they master the skills of sailing, learn lifelong lessons that build character, foster teamwork, and strengthen respect for self, others, and the marine environment.

Thank you for your interest in our summer camp, however PBSC has reached capacity for it's 2020 Summer Sailing Camp.  If your child is interested in "Learning to Sail", we intive you to inquire about our private lessons at 561-881-0809.

 

**If it is determined at any point during the summer by state or federal officials that we may not continue camp, we will issue a full refund for weeks that have not started and a pro rated amount if there is a cancellation mid week.**

Lunch

Parents have the option to purchase a healthy hot lunch for their sailors for $50 for the week.  If you would like to add lunch for your camper, please call us at 561-881-0809.

Starfish Sailors

 5-7 years old    -    $225.00/wk

Half day 9:00a-noon

Weeks 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 only

Starfish is a half day program designed to introduce 5-7 year old children to the world of sailing. These half day one-week sessions are designed to introduce the younger sailors to have fun on and around the water. Activities are designed to build confidence on the water.

 

Opti Sailors

7-13 years old     -     $350.00/week

Sessions:  9:00a-4:00p

Opti Beginner:

Sailors will learn the basics of sailing, point of sail, parts of the boat, rigging, knots, tacking and jibing. At the end of the week your sailor should be able to successfully rig launch sail and make it back to shore on their own.

 

Opti Intermediate/Advanced:

This popular program is for sailors who have taken Opti Beginner previously and are looking for something a bit more advanced. In this course, we will continue to build on the basics as well as introducing roll tack and roll jibes along with other advanced sailing topics. Upon successful completion of this course a sailor MAY be invited to take Opti Advanced/ Race.

** If your child weighs over 90 lbs and/or is taller than 5', we urge you to sign up for FJ/420 Beginner. Please call or email us with questions**

 

FJ/420

14-17 years old     -     $350.00/week

Sessions:  9:00a-4:00p

FJ/420 Beginner:

Sailors will learn the basics of sailing, point of sail, parts of the boat, rigging, knots, tacking a jibing. Sailors will be given a very basic swim check, while wearing a life jacket, to assess their comfort level in and around the water.

 

FJ/420 Intermediate/Advanced:

This popular program is for sailors who have taken beginner previously and are looking for something a bit more advanced. In this course, we will continue to build on the basics as well as introducing roll tack and roll jibes along with other advanced sailing topics. Upon successful completion of this course a sailor MAY be moved up to advanced/ race if they are a quick learner otherwise they will spend more than one week in intermediate.
