Summer Camp

Summer Sailing Camp is available to children ages 5-17. Monday- Friday from 9-4 with early drop off being 8:30 and late pick up -4:30. Your child will experience the joy of sailing and learn the essential elements of boat handling, seamanship, water safety and sportsmanship in a safe and fun environment. Campers gain self-confidence as they master the skills of sailing, learn lifelong lessons that build character, foster teamwork, and strengthen respect for self, others, and the marine environment.

Starfish Sailors


Starfish ages 5-7 ($225.00)

Half day 9am-noon

Starfish is a half day program designed to introduce 5-7 year old children to the world of sailing. These half day, one-week sessions are designed to introduce the younger sailors to have fun on and around the water. Activities are designed to build confidence on the water.

Opti Sailors

7-13 years old $350 per week

9 am-4 pm Sessions

Opti Beginner:

Sailors will learn the basics of sailing, point of sail, parts of the boat, rigging, knots, tacking and jibing. At the end of the week your sailor should be able to successfully rig launch sail and make it back to shore on their own.

Opti Intermediate: 

This popular program is for sailors who have taken Opti Beginner previously and are looking for something a bit more advanced. In this course, we will continue to build on the basics as well as introducing roll tack and roll jibes along with other advanced sailing topics. Upon successful completion of this course a sailor MAY be invited to take Opti Advanced/ Race.

 

Opti advanced/ Race (INVITATION ONLY)

Sailors MUST be invited by director or coaches to register. We will further build on the basics of sailing as well as introduce sailboat racing. In this class we will work on racing around buoys and sailing upwind competitively. We may teach skill like footwork through tacks and jibes, speed testing against other boats and rigging the boat in a race manner. Upon completion of Advanced/Race, a sailor will have the skills to transition into one of our race programs in the fall.

FJ/420

Ages 14-17 ($350) Full Day (9am -4pm)

FJ/420 Beginner

Sailors will learn the basics of sailing, point of sail, parts of the boat, rigging, knots, tacking a jibing. Sailors will be given a very basic swim check, while wearing a life jacket, to assess their comfort level in and around the water

FJ/420 Intermediate

This popular program is for sailors who have taken beginner previously and are looking for something a bit more advanced. In this course, we will continue to build on the basics as well as introducing roll tack and roll jibes along with other advanced sailing topics. Upon successful completion of this course a sailor MAY be moved up to advanced/ race if they are a quick learner otherwise they will spend more than one week in intermediate.

FJ/420 Advanced /Race (INVITATION ONLY)

Sailors MUST be invited by Director or coaches to register. We will further build on the basics of sailing as well as introduce sailboat racing. In this one week class we will work on racing around buoys and sailing upwind competitively. We may teach skills like footwork through tacks and jibes, speed testing against other boats and rigging the boat in a race manner. Upon completion of Advanced/Race, A sailor MAY be a good fit to join our Club 420 or High School FJ/420 teams for the fall season.
